Piano Lessons For Kids & Teens

Do you have a child who loves music? But are you worried they might find traditional piano lessons boring?  You’re not alone!  Many children struggle with the format of ‘traditional’ piano lessons.

That's where we come in!

At Donna Hinkley Music Tuition, we're all about making music education engaging and enjoyable. Through a mix of musical games and activities, your child will have a great time learning and reinforcing musical concepts, both at the piano and 'off the bench'.

Our personalised lessons cater to their unique interests and learning styles, so they can enjoy every moment of their musical journey. Each lesson is crafted to boost confidence, enhance enjoyment, and firmly establish musical concepts.

So, why settle for conventional lessons when you can embark on a musical adventure with us?

I offer two different lesson formats for school-aged students:

Deluxe Lessons

In deluxe lessons, your child will attend a weekly 60-minute lesson, with 2 other students, spending 20 minutes at each of the following stations:

Individual Lesson - working with me at the acoustic piano

Theory & Musicianship Lab - music activities and games at the table

Keyboard Lab - practice activities at the digital piano

  • Recommended for students age 7 to 16

  • Your child will enjoy making music and learning with their musical peers while having the freedom to progress at their own pace

  • An excellent way for your child to spend extra time learning through music games and activities, as well as work in a group setting – all without missing out on 1:1 time with me at the piano!

  • Theory, ear training, sight-reading, creativity, rhythm, and composition are just a handful of topics your child will explore during their keyboard and theory lab time

  • ‘Ensemble Weeks’ provide the opportunity for playing ensemble pieces as well as group games & activities

  • As an added bonus, the extra lesson time gives parents more time to take a break or run some errands – it’s a ‘win-win’!

Donna is amazing and has taught my daughter so much. Donna's wealth of knowledge and experience really shows in my daughter's lessons and because of this, my daughter just loves learning piano and looks forward to each weekly session. Highly recommend.
